In the previous page we were able to demonstrate that the basic underlaying mechanism of time appears to be presence of motion and
forces. We perceive change at a sharp focal point the present. Past is just memory and future is non existent, it is more of a mental projection
based on past experiences. The passage of time and the feeling that past and future have some spacial existence is an illusion created by
our mind in trying to explain the world filled with change. With coming of special and general relativity in early part of 20th century the
revolutionary concept that time can be slowed came into picture. This is an extremely important as if we know the cause of slowing of
time we can potentially know the cause of time.
Normally the gravitational fields surrounding large masses are thought to slow time through gravitational acceleration this concept is
taken directly taken from special relativity where many books try to sell the idea that acceleration experienced by the travelling twin is cause of
slowing of time. This is totally false and some books on relativity will point this out.
Let me make it clear that I strongly believe in time dilation affect of motion. I however do not agree on any explanation given in textbooks
for time dilation of the travelling twin. The twin paradox arises because the relativist refuse to acknowledge that space has structure also that
motion and rest are not relative but real. This concept appears difficult to prove however rotating objects can be easily differentiated from non
rotating ones due to the presence of centrifugal forces. This cannot be explained away by some instantaneous effect of the rest of the
universe. This to me clearly shows that motion and rest are in relation to structure of space. In general relativity space can be curved warped.
To do that you need a structure. Space also is teeming with virtual particles and may be source of infinite energy.
There are however many problems with assigning structure to space. Number one being the Michelson and Morley's experiment which
showed the surprising finding that speed of light is a constant. Other obvious major problem is how can huge masses like earth pass through
space without any resistance. There is a beautiful solution to this conundrum if we understand that the expanding space is cause of all motion
and forces in the universe.
