What causes Time?
EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE      ------------>    DRIVES TIME MOTION AND FORCES

Definition of time: Time is the presence of motion and forces  and is caused by the expansion of space

The above conclusion is derived by taking into account the fact that we live in an expanding universe. We normally associate slowing of time in
gravity to negative curvature in space while ignoring the fact that space is expanding more slowly in this area and negative curvature is due to slower
expansion of space. Once we link slower expansion of space to slower time we have made a paradigm shift towards a deeper understanding of
time. The following steps lead to the above definition of time.

1.   Time involves motion as well as forces. (from the thought experiment)
2.   Time slows in gravity (General Relativity) where space is negatively curved and expanding slowly.
3.   Time slows for objects moving in space. (SR) I will show later how moving objects also curve space.
4.   Common to both gravity and motion is matter and space…an expanding space.

From the above we derive the following Hypothesis:

The underlying mechanism driving what we perceive as time, that is motion and forces is the expanding
universe. In other words the expansion and stretching of space imparts the phenomenon of time.

Following are six postulates on time.

1.   Time is the presence of motion and forces and is due to the expansion (stretching) of space. For time to be
present space should be expanding, motion should be present and forces should be in action at least at
atomic level.

2.   The amount of motion and forces imparted by the expanding space to a given mass is a constant. (mc2)
This is why when an objects external motion is increased the internal motion of atoms slows along with proportional
weakening of forces which we observe as slowing of time.

3.   Velocity or speed is the qualitative measure of motion. It measures how fast or slow a
motion is compared to another more basic motion like the speed of light.

4.   Energy is the quantitative measure of motion and forces. Energy takes into account both motion and forces.

5.   Gravity has two components. An attractive component which is due to “time differential " which is due to slower expansion of space around
celestial bodies.   Mass is composed of billions of atomic particles orbiting at tremendous velocities tend to move towards slower time when placed
in a time differential. Gravity also has a deflective component caused by changes in curvature of the expanding space.

6.   The expansion of space causes matter to radiate gravitons and electromagnetic force mediating photons.
